Guy's View of the Festival

Guy's View of The Kennerdell Arts Festival 2009:

     Oh, what a beautiful day!
Festival 2009, lived up to the very best of standards. One of the best I've seen in fifty years.
That young Lady -Jessica Leininger, a dream artist, won awards and contests, and rightfully so.
I am not a known critic, but my thoughts are, what more could this festival hope for - More of the Same!
Leininger and friends had their own "booth",and had for sale, some pins, and some drawings - really great art.
Now, as far as the music goes, a lovely day, as always, my favorites - The Ryver Nymphs ( for more information on these popular ladies, "google them - Ryver Nymphs" ) & many more exciting bands attended and played for all to hear - wonderful.

Just Jammin' - acoustic guitar duo, with Dan Murphy and John Ferketic. They play anything and everything and play it all, really well. They can be reached at either, phone: 412 - 741 - 2367 or email,
jferketic@gmail.com

Deanna Miller -Festival Music  Coorindinator & Half of the The Ryver Nymphs. Along with Deanna, Nancy LeRoy, sing and play guitars, and they are VERY GOOD at what they do. You can see them evey other Tuesday at the Foxburg Inn thru October 2009. You can also learn more about them by visiting wwwparivertours.com, under the

CREW page.

Dianna Leininger - Is the Festival Art Coordinator. She is also the mother of the talented, Jessica Leininger, who designed the beautiful T-Shirts for the 2009 Season, and will be featured on the front of the 2010 Festival Program.

The Kayak that was donated by Wiegel Brothers Marine to be raffled off by the daily number. You can reach the Weigel Brothers by phone: 814-437-2077. Thanks Weigel Brothers!

The Kids Corner - where the little ones could enjoy a variety of art and craft projects and stories, sponsored again this year by The Kennerdell Church of God.

People's Choice/ Marilyn Wingard Memorial Award is actually chosen by the public,
in Honor of Marilyn Wingard (Guy's Belated Wife, who always loved the Art Festival, and sometimes even entered some Art, herself - and encouraged Guy and everyone else to do the same).

This Very Talented Lovely Lady's name is Deborah Machin, of Harrisville Pa. If anyone is looking to have a quilt made - here is your girl. And if you seriously do want one made, get in touch with Guy or Cindy and they will relay the message or get you in contact with her.

Deborah shows her creative side in doing this quilt, and this really unique way of making a wind chime (with her small quilted hanging on the bottom for a weight-ingenious!) . Sorry it doesn't show up any better.
NOTE: We do have Deborah's phone number to reach her, should anyone want a quilt, We just don't have permission to publish it here as of yet. So, again, if you would like to have one made, you can call Cindy @ 814-432-3963, or email Guy or Cindy, and they will get ahold of her - and have her reach you.

3-D Statue, made, by up and coming, promising artist Jessica Leininger, who does most of her work in colored pencils, ink, and acrylics. She is 17yrs. old, a self-taught artist, and plans to pursue a career in Art. Her work has earned her the way into being accepted into the Honors Art Program at The Butler Institute of American Art, located in Youngstown, Ohio. You can see more of her work at: http://drippingxpitch.deviantart.com/
Jessica also designed the Tee shirts for the Festival 2009.

This is also Jessica's work.  To see her real potential, you really need to check out her "deviant art". It is ALL good.
